Michigan is a no-fault divorce state, which means there does not need to be a specific reason or cause for divorce. Mango Law Group represents parties who want to initiate divorce proceeding, and others who are going through the various stages of divorce. DIVORCE
Whether you need to file for divorce or respond to a Petition for Divorce, Mango Law Group can lead you through the process and start the planning for a successful outcome. Divorce is of course an emotional issue, but also one of an orderly process of organizing your affairs so a strategy can be developed that is based on facts and what’s fair. We have vast experience sorting out this complicated process.
DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS
Filing is just the start of the process. You will need a competent legal team such as Mango Law Group for responding to complaints, filing complaints, requiring payment performance, and helping to enforce child visitation and custody rulings. Even after divorce is finalized these needs commonly arise. Our attorneys will be there to handle all of it promptly and professionally.
LEGAL SEPARATION/SEPARATE MAINTENANCE
A Michigan option that might be an interim solution is a Legal Separation. They often require financial support in the form of Maintenance. Mango Law Group will formalize this with provisions made to ensure that funding is provided uninterrupted for however long the separation occurs.
ALIMONY/SPOUSAL SUPPORT
Alimony/Spousal Support is based upon several factors and is not specified by the State of Michigan. It is based on a case-by-case basis. Since each case is judged separately, a strong financial and/or need case for support is essential and must be established and must be based upon the financial condition of both parties. This is where experienced attorneys such as Mango Law Group are needed to determine what amount to ask for or conversely what amount is fair and equitable.
CHILD CUSTODY/PARENTING TIME
Custody relies heavily on what’s in the child’s best interest. While the Court prefers that both parents continue to be deeply involved with the child/children, that is not always possible for a wide variety of reasons. There is sole custody, joint custody, and physical custody and all provide different benefits and protections for the child/children. Your attorneys at Mango Law Group will attempt to build an agreed to custody and visitation plan between both parents and present it to the court. Or they will make a case for what they believe is in the best interest of the child/children.
CHILD SUPPORT
The State of Michigan follows an established protocol for who pays child support and in what amount. Mango Law Group will determine what the formula calls for, negotiate it, and present it to the court. In many cases the Child Support plan needs to be periodically modified as the child/children grow up and their needs change. Mango Law Group will oversee Child Support Modifications, and file them with the court.
